Why doesn’t Nine Percent Nancy want the reps to read bills before voting on them?
February 272010
Trillions of dollars on the table and Nine Percent Nancy demands they vote on the legislation without having the opportunity to read and study the bills. Why?
Nancy Pelosi has a 35% approval rating. She wants them to read the bills. You know that during the process of passing a bill they debate the bill, often for weeks.

Because if there were given the chance to read it, they’d have the time to get the citizens to object to it.
That’s why the illegal immigrant amnesty bill died last year.

It’s a waist of time. Obama promised 5 day minimum, but he’s in such a hurray (speed does that). But everyone has already made up their mind. The ones that vote for it expect rewards and those that don’t expect to get voted back in.

The newer bills don’t even have exact monetary amounts written into them, just estimates and "at least" amounts. They want only more political power for themselves and don’t care too much about what would be best for their constituency anymore.

Because she wants to shove it through before there is time for public outcry.
Nevermind though, it wasn’t just not read, it wasn’t fully WRITTEN when it was voted on. There was a ‘placeholder’ in it to write in later the deals they were cutting on the floor.

If you take a Political Science 101 course you’ll learn that one of the main differences between the House and Senate is that the Speaker of the House has nearly total control over when a bill is voted for. A speaker has this authority whether they are a Republican or Democrat. You just don’t like the fact that she has this authority because she’s not on your team.
