CHRISTIAN MESSAGES IN OLD IRISH SCRIPT DECIPHERED

March 62010

Matthew 28:19
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

It has long been debated whether Christopher Columbus or Leif Eriksson was the first European explorer to discover America. But it’s beginning to look as though this debate is beside the point. One surprising clue is found in inscriptions in West Virginia. These inscriptions are in a language called Ogam. Ogam is a written, alphabetical language in which the orientation of vertical and angled lines to a central horizontal line determines each character. The inscriptions were made sometime between the early sixth and late eighth centuries A.D., almost a thousand years before Columbus.

The form of Ogam writing used in the inscriptions found in West Virginia was developed by the ancient Irish Celts. How did ancient Celtic writing find its way into West Virginia only six or seven centuries after Christ? The answer may be in the inscriptions. Each inscription offers a Christian message! One reads: “The season of the blessed advent of the Savior, Lord Christ.” It has been suggested that the writers were Irish monks who, in obedience to the Great Commission, set off to make disciples of the American Indians.

In previous programs we have looked at some evidence that people in the Old World commonly had knowledge of the New World before the Dark Ages. We are also planning more such programs. These inscriptions may easily be a sign of Christian missionary work in the New World.

Prayer: I thank You, Lord, for those who brought Your Word into my life. Amen.

Great video. I love seeing mythology passed off as historical fact exposed. God bless the Holy Celtic Church.

  3. JohnWesleyMethodist Says:

    Why don’t you read …
Why don’t you read Hebrews 4 – written by Paul – and you will realize what the Sabbath rest is and isn’t. The Sabbath rest isn’t a day because Paul says that the Israelites never entered into that rest. The rest remains for Christians who enter a deep level of belief in Christ. People bicker over a day over and over but the rest has nothing to do with a day.

    The Culdees were …
The Culdees were Israelites. Just read the Scottish Declaration of Independance. In that Declaration the Scots make clear that they are Israelite.

Look again, that is Ogham script.

  7. Islandretreat Says:

    They weren’t Irish …
They weren’t Irish (Pope Leo X imposed that name on the Irish in the 16th century), they weren’t dirty, they weren’t Pagans, and they most certainly weren’t Catholics. The Culdees (Hibernian & Scots missionaries) preached pure Scriptural Christianity. After the fall of the Roman empire they evangelised western & central Europe from Iceland to Italy, reaching as far as Russia in the east and reputedly the American Continent in the west. For centuries, Iona was the real centre of Christendom!

    This is rubbish… …
This is rubbish…ogham script was inscribed verticaly along the edge of stones, not horizontal. It is believed though that the Irish monk “St Brendan The Navigator” made it to N America during the 7th century AD.

    Yup, you got it …
Yup, you got it goffnett! Jesus was also resurrected late Saturday afternoon before sun down (which would be the start of the first day; Saturday evening) and he was buried Wednesday evening before sun down, the start of the high sabbath (which was Thursday). Check “The Refiners Fire” for some good articles about that.

  15. goffnett Says:

    Your point cannot …
Your point cannot be made more clear than a simple study of the Sabbath day. I’ve always been taught that Sunday is the Lords day <NO WHERE IN SCRIPTURE. The Sabbath day is the first thing sanctified in the Scriptures (Genesis 2), It is one of the ten commandments. So why don’t we Western Christians observe the entire 10 commandments? Paul observes the Sabbath as did all the disciples, post resurrection.

  16. Silverinator Says:

    Maybe they were …
Maybe they were fleeing the catholic state so they can do as Jesus told them to.

Idk, tell us more. Were you there?

Hmmm, maybe people these people were the predecessor’s of the so called “pilgrims”. Unless, you want to believe that “pilgrims” just happened unto the America’s like the so called “history” books tell you.

  17. LucPFT Says:

    It matters because …
It matters because it’s fascinating. And just because Catholicism is filled with paganism doesn’t mean that these followers setting out to spread the Gospel were heathen. No, rather, they were sincere men who loved their Savior. Just like many Protestants (and there’s PLENTY of paganism in the Christian reform, as well; if you want to get away from all paganism, you must turn Torah (instruction in righteousness).

  18. Doliath Says:

    Why does this …
Why does this matter? Weren’t these Irish missionaries dirty, pagan Catholics, BereanBeacon?
