How do you think of the booming china?
i think it is a good thing,not because i am a chinese.
as we all know for a long time the US is the "BIG BROTHER"all over the world.there is no doubt about the abuse of their droit :they loot almost every undeveloped country during the past year. they originate war in about every country they could without considering what a suffering it is to their people.judge from this point.they the US goverment is the beast.
of course, they could do things above just because no body in world could confront with them (in economy technology military affairs)
but as china is booming day by day.things are definitely different.Bush concentrate in how to attack china(of course,he will never choose to fight with chinese since he knows that china will be the first country in the world which can defeated theirself easily.)so he tries everthing he could do to detract china(media news speech and ””’etc)
they even didn’t have time to consider about which country wo
which contry would be the next aim for them to inginated the war
so how do you think about it
which contry would be the next aim for them to inginated the war
so how do you think about it

The Chinese are kind of what America used to be.

They were not interested in being involved in world affairs. They were just interested in working hard, building a better societery, and watching themselves prosper.

Now the Chinese do this better than America. They do not pay to station troops in foreign lands. They do not look to spread their ways to other nations. They are a people rich in history and tradition and are finding more and more ways to compete in capitalist markets. Don’t worry about going to war with us, Lisa. With our debt, you’re going to own us pretty soon anyways.

On a tous le droit
Liane Foly

On a le droit
Quand personne ne nous voit,
De pleurer en silence,
De regretter son enfance,
De se laisser aller en
regardant tomber la pluie.
On a le droit
Quand personne nous croit,
De sortir sa violence,
Tous ces mots qu’on dit
pas mais qu’on pense,

Divine Right of Kings
The Divine Right of Kings is a European political and religious doctrine of political absolutism. Such doctrines are largely, though not exclusively, associated with the medieval and ancien régime eras. It states that a monarch owes his rule to the will of God, not to the will of his subjects, parliament, the aristocracy or any other competing authority. This doctrine continued with the claim that any attempt to depose a monarch or to restrict his powers ran contrary to the will of God.

Its symbolism remains in the coronations of the British monarchs, in which they are anointed with Holy oils by the Archbishop of Canterbury, thereby ordaining them to monarchy. It is further evidenced by efforts to trace the genealogy of European monarchs to King David of the Old Testament, in the apparent belief that it legitimizes the rule of the present monarch. The king or queen of the United Kingdom is the last monarch still to undergo such a ceremony, which in other countries has been replaced by an inauguration or other declaration. It is the reason why the British Royal Family’s motto is Dieu Et Mon Droit (God and my [birth] Right – i.e. I rule with God’s blessing).

It may also include a belief in the right of the monarch to rule due to direct decendency from God, usually tracing genealogy back to a divine being, such as Jesus of Nazareth; hence being the person most likely to be able to correctly acertain the will of God.

The concept
The concept of Divine Right incorporates the broader concept of "royal God-given rights", which simply says that "the right to rule is anointed by God (or gods)" which is found in other cultures. This concept was also found in the Aryan (White Race) and Egyptian traditions. Thomas Aquinas accepted the overthrow of a king and even regicide when the laws of the king are untenably unjust, and towards the end of the Middle Ages many philosophers such as Nicholas of Cusa and Francisco Suarez propounded similar theories. In addition, the concept of Mandate of Heaven required that the emperor properly carry out the proper rituals, consult his ministers, and made it extremely difficult to undo any acts carried out by an ancestor.

Much of the Scriptural basis of the Divine Right of Kings comes from Romans 13:1-2, which state: "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation." A surface interpretation of these verses appear that since a king is put in power by God, every order given by the king must be obeyed, so as to not disobey God.
thanks for the answer, i think america is best. this king stuff is sucks.

Basically that kings are picked by God. If you have a problem with the king, you have a problem with God. Different from the US, because our leaders are elected by the people, and we have separation of church and state.

Toi et Moi and A qui de droit.

The former is both a Namie Amuro song as well as a Pamela [Lajoie] song, and the latter is another Pamela song. Just curious as to what they mean. Thanks in advance!

George, my stable lad, is due to be married next Saturday to Daisy, a pretty young thing from the village.

As you are aware I am a Spinster and last of the Twizzlegrass line.

How can I maintain the 550 year old tradition and ensure my family claims its right of droit du seigner?

(I do not bat for that team so that is not an option).

I’m not absolutely sure but I believe all such claims have go through the DHSS now.
Other wise brute force should do it

Enjoy!

Need to find title of a romance novel!?

February 242010

Posted in droit | 1 Comment »

I am looking for a title/author of a romance novel – I believe it is a historical/medieval. It had two sisters in it and the hero is set to marry the annoying sister but has feelings for/desires the other sister is also getting married. On her wedding night he claims droit de seigneur on the sister that he really wants.

Sound familiar to anyone?

It sounds like the plot from "The Conqueror" by Brenda Joyce. The hero, Rolfe the Relentless, was given one sister (Lady Alice) as his bride, but he falls in love with the other sister (Ceidre). Rolfe has to marry Lady Alice, but then when he weds Ceidre off to Guy (one of Rolfe’s men) he claims le droit du seigneur.

Hope that helped!

How do you pronounce this?

It’s in french.

Thanks. :D
