What effect does the Nancy Grace show have on prospective jurors?

September 302009

After watching her show for the last few weeks, I would think that possible jurors would have preconceived opinions about the different cases if selected. Is her showed taped after jury selection? If not, are jurors asked if they ever watch the Nancy Grace show? Would this be a reason defense attorneys use for dismissal?

Somewhat dangerous isn’t it. Recently, I heard a lawyer on TV say, a trial isn’t about truth, it’s about getting a conviction or acquittal.

Nancy Grace’s job is to fan the flames based on some facts and endless hours of wild speculation. What a lot of people don’t realize is, she is nothing more than the host of a show. You’ll notice very few of her experts voice a different opinion and if any of them disagree, she lashes out at them. Of course this is all pre-scripted to make it look like it’s a fair and balanced show.

Of course her show taints what people think. No, her show doesn’t care if a jury has been selected yet, nor does the notion of innocent until proven guilty in a fair trial matter to her. Rating are what matter, having material to flap her mouth about matters.

Notice how police depts in most states limit what gets out. Yet Florida state dumps it all out to the media by law. Why do you think Nancy Grace is fixed on Casey Anthony. Casey’s case is a easy target for Nancy Grace due to Florida law. Maybe we will see Florida change it’s laws after this case.

Notice how Nancy Grace calls Casey Anthony "Tot Mom". This is "Branding" a tool used in Marketing, as in selling a story to lots of views. Personally, after about 3 minutes I change the channel because I can’t stand her.

What is the inscription that Matt Garza has on his hat?

September 302009

He has some sort of inscription written on the inside of his hat, that before he pitches he looks at, as well as when he gets a little frustrated during the game. I can’t find this answer anywhere!

Good question. Could possibly be the initials of a loved one or some sort of thing that motivates him.

no its not!! my second language is french so i know what i am talking about !

Well, you know the meaning. The reason why it’s in French is down to William the Conqueror who came from France with his Norman knights. They killed Harold in battle and the crown passed over to a Norman who brought with him French influence, although he later spent most of his time back in Normandy. The motto is very old and reflects the French influence on English monarchs.

Is there any German words where the /ps/ cluster occurs in the onset?

September 302009

/ps/ cluster means that I have to pronounce both the ‘p’ and the ’s’ sound, instead of just the ’s’. Plus, is the ‘p’ in the German word ‘Psychologie’ silent or not?

usually you always have to pronounce both the ‘p’ and the ’s’ on most words in German. The ‘p’ is never silent. So, you have to pronounce it in ‘Psychologie’. Just as in:

- Psalm
- Pseudonym
- psychisch

Should Nancy Pelosi be sentenced to Supermax Prison for her abuse of the Constitution?

September 282009

Posted in nancy | 27 Comments »

Nancy wants to bail out the auto industry. Where in the Constitution does it grant government the power to control and aid private organizations? Nancy should go to Supermax and bunk with Richard Reid, the Shoe Bomber, a fellow terrorist who wants to see the downfall of this great country of ours. What do you think?

Lets pack her bags.

This is the translation that I found:

In the reign of the new king who was Lord of the diadems, great in glory, the stabilizer of Egypt, and also pious in matters relating to the gods, superior to his adversaries, rectifier of the life of men, Lord of the thirty-year periods like Hephaestus the Great, King like the Sun, the Great King of the Upper and Lower Lands, offspring of the Parent-loving gods, whom Hephaestus has approved, to whom the Sun has given victory, living image of Zeus, Son of the Sun, Ptolemy the ever-living, beloved by Ptah;

In the ninth year, when Aëtus, son of Aëtus, was priest of Alexander and of the Savior gods and the Brother gods and the Benefactor gods and the Parent-loving gods and the god Manifest and Gracious; Pyrrha, the daughter of Philinius, being athlophorus for Bernice Euergetis; Areia, the daughter of Diogenes, being canephorus for Arsinoë Philadelphus; Irene, the daughter of Ptolemy, being priestess of Arsinoë Philopator: on the fourth of the month Xanicus, or according to the Egyptians the eighteenth of Mecheir.

THE DECREE: The high priests and prophets, and those who enter the inner shrine in order to robe the gods, and those who wear the hawk’s wing, and the sacred scribes, and all the other priests who have assembled at Memphis before the king, from the various temples throughout the country, for the feast of his receiving the kingdom, even that of Ptolemy the ever-living, beloved by Ptah, the god Manifest and Gracious, which he received from his Father, being assembled in the temple in Memphis this day, declared: Since King Ptolemy, the ever-living, beloved by Ptah, the god Manifest and Gracious, the son of King Ptolemy and Queen Arsinoë, the Parent-loving gods, has done many benefactions to the temples and to those who dwell in them, and also to all those subject to his rule, being from the beginning a god born of a god and a goddess—like Horus, the son of Isis and Osirus, who came to the help of his Father Osirus; being benevolently disposed toward the gods, has concentrated to the temples revenues both of silver and of grain, and has generously undergone many expenses in order to lead Egypt to prosperity and to establish the temples… the gods have rewarded him with health, victory, power, and all other good things, his sovereignty to continue to him and his children forever.

The complete Greek text, in English, is about 1600–1700 words in length, and is about 20 paragraphs long (average 80 words/paragraph).

Do Psychologists have to go to med school in orther for them to be an official Psychologists practioner?

September 282009

Im thinking about studying psychologie in college. Help me.

No, psychologists do not have to go to medical school. Psychiatrists do. Psychologists do not prescribe medications; therefore, medical school is not necessary. Psychologists do have to obtain a Ph.D though and become licensed in there state before they can start practicing. You will first need to go to undergraduate schooling for 4 years and get your bachelors degree (preferably in Psychology). During your Junior or Senior year of college you will have to take the GRE test and score high on this. This is the test that along with your GPA, which should be at 3.5 or higher, will determine if you get into graduate school. Once in graduate school you will work on your Ph.D. This will take you another (minimum) 4 years.

If you decide that Psychiatry is your better route, you will go to undergraduate schooling for 4 years, medical school for 4 years, choose the specialty (psychiatry) and then finish out 3 years of residence and 1 year of internship (minimum). So it is a minimum of 12 years for Psychiatry vs. 8 years for Psychology.
